The PGDFT is a foundation course for developing a competent cadre of business executives to meet the country's growing requirements for training personnel in the field of Foreign Trade Management. The programme aims at providing relative view of global business through a comprehensive coverage incorporating all the important areas and disciplines relevant to Foreign Trade Activities, where the course choosers have lucrative employment opportunities in private corporate sector.

Introduction and Scope :
In the altered geo-political and economic scenario, an understanding of the forces of international economic, financial and trade relations, institutions and administrative policies and procedures governing them are essential for achieving economic goals and objectives and for proper management of foreign trade. Besides government and governmental institutions, private sector would have to strive to find global markets for their products and plan imports required in production of export products as well as for technology transfer.

Job Opportunities for PGDFT :
Students who complete the course are expected to have lucrative employment opportunities in private corporate sector in export-import departments, governmental organizations, all India institutions like Export-Import, commercial banks, financial institutions, multinational companies in India and abroad. The students can also start their own consultancy, export-import units in Foreign Trade.

Eligibility :
Students who are appearing for Final year graduate examination or Students who possess a bachelor's degree in any discipline from University of Pune or any other recognized University with (in the open category) 50 per cent marks or equivalent grade (b+) will be considered for admission. The cutoff for reserve category candidates is at 45% at graduation level.

Internship :
The students have to undergo a 45 days industrial training programme after Semester I in any Logistics organization or any organization in the International Business Development Area.
